Pyre ran through the forests of Konoha, as night slowly claimed the sky, “Almost nightfall… Must… make it… to… Hidden Leaf… Village before… dark…!” she said between pants as she increased her speed. She caught movement in some trees from the corner of her eye, and skidded to a halt. She whirled around, taking out her black dagger, “Who’s there!?” when there was no response, Pyre growled, “I KNOW you’re there! So quit hiding!”

…Still no response…

Pyre looked up at the sky, “Eh, shit! It’s almost dark!” she cursed, before breaking into a sprint. Right as she passed a nearby tree, two huge snakes, stretched out and strike at her from the tree, “What the hell!” Pyre just barely managed to get out of their reach, and continued to run. She glanced back at the snakes, and quickly recognized them. ’They belong to Orochimaru!’ Now she definitely needed to hurry to the Hidden Leaf Village! She concentrated some of her charka into her feet, increasing her speed dramatically. ‘Just a few more miles…’

Orochimaru was leaping from tree to tree above her,"Its no use running Pyre! you wont escape this time!"

She grolwed, "Leave me the HELL alone!" and ran as fast as she could.

Orochimaru laughed and kept up easily,"You really think you can run so easily?"

Naruto was walking in the forest,"Hmmm..wonder why the leaf village is so peaceful?"

Right then Pyre ran into him, "Ack!"

Naruto fell over from the impact and rolled upright,"HEY! whats the big-"He said then froze at the sight of the young woman that had run into him,"A-are you ok miss?"

"No..." she muttered, getting up, "Being stalked by a snake-freak at the moment..."

Orochimaru laughed and took off,"I'll leave you for now Pyre."

Naruto looked around,"Seems like he gave up for now."

"For now being the keywords..." Pyre muttered as she cacthed her breath.

Naruto could hardly keep his eyes off her,"My names Naruto Uzumaki! whats yours?"

"Pyre En Li..." She said after cacthing her breath a bit, "How far is it to the village?"

Naruto looked back, "About a mile or so."

An ANBU spoke from where he crouched on a tree branch, his voice stifled behind the cat mask. "Uzumaki Naruto."

Naruto turned around,"Yeah?"He said,"Lord Hokage need me?"

"You are to bring your visitor to the Village." The ANBU lifted his mask to reveal a familiar masked face. "Or at least offer her tea. It's the polite thing to do."
He sniffed the air cautiously, "I'll meet up with you later. Go back to the Village. Hokage's orders." With that the ANBU mask flipped back on and the ANBU disappeared in the direction of a certain Orochimaru.

Naruto stared dumb-struck after Kakashi,"Always knew he was nutters, so er, Pyre? do you want some tea?"

"Actaully I would really like to get to the Village as soon as possisble." Pyre said, "That snake-bastard isn't going to sit and wait forever..."

Naruto nodded,"Sure!"He said and leaped off.

Pyre sighed and followed him, "Easy for you... you're not out of breath..." she muttered.

Naruto looked over his shoulder and promtly slammed into a tree."Agh!"

Pyre blinked, "What the..." She went over to him and knelt down, "Um you okay?"

Naruto rubbed his head sheepishly,"Umm...yeah i think so."

She stood up and offered him her hand, "Wacth where you're going next time, ne?"

Naruto nodded,"Yeah i will...heh."

Kakashi growled to himself, rubbing ruefully atthe deep wound on his thigh. But as the old ones said, you should have seen the other guy. Or guys in this case. Although he spesialised in tracking he had lost the lead. He would have to return to Konoha. He wiped the blood of the ANBU mask with the corner of the sound ninjas garb. Slipping on the maks he stepped over the mutilated corpse. He was getting too old for this.
